Why a disc motor?
The direction of the magnetic field of an ordinary motor diverges toward the radial direction, while the direction of the magnetic field of a disc motor is parallel to the axis of rotation. Therefore, the disc motor is also called the axial field motor.
The magnetic field runs from the axial direction, not only has a large magnetic energy density, but also has a large space for exchanging energy, so the torque density of the motor is greatly improved compared with the radial magnetic field.
The middle rotor structure is a rotor disk with magnetic steel, which is installed in the middle, and the stator winding iron core is set at both ends. The torque density is increased, and the magnetic pull of the left and right iron cores can cancel each other out, which solves the problem of unbalanced axial force. Another advantage of the intermediate rotor structure is that the heat dissipation efficiency of the winding and the iron core is very high.
The SMC iron core formed by pressing the Hognas nano-insulation powder and the PM process are very easy to realize the axial flux stator of the topological structure, and solves the problem that the silicon steel core cannot be wound.
